Hot or not?

Felipe Massa

Each Monday Hot or Not brings you up to date with the significant movers and shakers in the Castrol Rankings.

Felipe Massa may not have won the German Grand Prix, but his runner-up spot did make him the biggest climber in the top 100, while IndyCar racer Helio Castroneves also surrendered a win when he was penalised a lap for blocking at Edmonton.

There were a host of other changes in the Castrol Rankings this week too, both inside and outside the top places.

UP THIS WEEK

Felipe Massa (41)

The moral victor of the German Grand Prix still finished second for Ferrari and climbed 21 places as a result.

Sergio Perez

Sergio Perez (67)

The Mexican made it two GP2 sprint race victories on the bounce at Hockenheim after coming up from seventh on the grid, and gained 15 places.

Klaus Graf (189)

His Lime Rock ALMS win for the CytoSport Porsche squad was as unexpected as it was deserved. The German and his co-driver Greg Pickett both made up 35 places.

Takuma Sato

Takuma Sato (328)

The perennial IndyCar crasher at last managed to turn his pace into a career-best ninth place finish at Edmonton. He climbed 90 spots as a result.

Nicolas Armindo (1065)

Returned to the Porsche Supercup as a guest driver at Hockenheim and put his circuit knowledge to good use by winning and making up 360 places.

DOWN THIS WEEK

Mark Martin (19)

Form has deserted the veteran NASCAR driver this year. Didn't reproduce his second place from last year's Brickyard 400 and fell three spots.

Helio Castroneves

Helio Castroneves (29)

Thought he'd won the Edmonton IndyCar race, but was penalised a lap for blocking his team-mate Will Power. Dropped four places.

Heikki Kovalainen (49)

The drop continued for the Lotus driver at Hockenheim. Another retirement cost him nine Castrol Rankings places.

Lucas di Grassi (123)

Dropped his big GP2 score from Hungary last year and replaced it with a poor haul from German Grand Prix. Fell 22 places as a result.

Jean-Christophe Boullion

Fabio Leimer (266)

No top-20 finishes in GP2 at Hockenheim for Ocean driver. Lost solid points from Formula Master this time last year, so dropped 50 places.

The Castrol Rankings is based on drivers' measurable performance over the last 12 months, including everything from their grid position to fastest laps. For further information on how the Castrol Rankings scores are calculated, click here.
